In 2006, John became responsible for managing Zions Bank’s other Public Finance offices in Salt Lake City, Las Vegas and Boston. He transitioned responsibility for KNN Public Finance’s business activities to David Leifer in 2009. He continues to manage several client relationships for KNN, in addition to supervising Zions Public Finance and retains an office in Oakland.
John earned a B. A. in Accounting from California State University at Long Beach. He and his wife, Royleen, live in Oakland and enjoy cooking, golf, music, art, baseball and travel (including visits to thoroughbred race tracks around the world). They also find time to spend with friends and family, including their grandchildren, and for the occasional trip to California’s various wineries.
Since moving to Oakland, John and Royleen have embarked on an “elder musicians appreciation journey” to see as many great older performers as possible. So far they’ve seen Dave Brubeck, Ralph Stanley, Oscar Peterson, George Shearing, Sonny Rollins, Marian McPartland, McCoy Tyner, Ahmad Jamal, Bennie Golson, Freddie Hubbard, B. B. King, Bobby Hutcherson, Mundell Lowe, Little Richard, Jimmy Cobb and Merle Haggard.
