Joanna serves as lead financial advisor for many school districts and community colleges in California, including Napa Valley Unified School District, Fremont Unified School District, Lake Tahoe Unified School District and Contra Costa Community College District.

In addition to education, Joanna is lead financial advisor to the County of Orange where she has been providing financial and transactional services since 2000. Most recently, she developed the County’s $300 million Teeter commercial paper program and model. Also, Joanna advises several water districts in Southern California.

Because of her diversified background in both tax-exempt and taxable securities, she brings particular expertise in the structuring and pricing of bonds. She has senior managed and structured new money and refunding financings for:

• certificates of participation
• variable rate demand obligations
• general obligation bonds
• tax and revenue anticipation notes
• pension obligation notes.

Prior to joining KNN Public Finance in 2006, Joanna was an investment banker with A.G. Edwards and Prudential Securities in California and before that was a trader/underwriter for Fidelity Investments in Boston. She is a graduate of Northwestern University and of the University of Connecticut, where she earned an M.B.A. In her spare time, Joanna is an enthusiastic biker, golfer and, when possible, sailor.
